Baden-Württemberg is a region where the arts scene is multifaceted, inventive and backed by strong support from the Ministry of Science, Research and Arts.

The Stuttgart Ballet is world class and the State Opera in Stuttgart has been voted "Opera of the Year" multiple times. In addition, Stuttgart's Staatsgalerie (State Gallery of Arts) is famous for having one of the most important and impressive Classic Modern art collections in the world.

Yet arts and culture are not only restricted to the state capital. Baden-Württemberg is home to 14 larger theater houses, 48 smaller private theaters and over 200 off-theaters/independent theaters and dance companies.

A wealth of drama and film festivals, music festivals, musicals, orchestras and cultural initiatives offer plenty of choices when it comes to quality entertainment and arts. Eleven state-run and numerous municipal and private museums supplement Baden-Württemberg's rich cultural landscape.
