As political state secretary, Arne Braun is responsible for art and cultural policy in the state and has been at the Ministry of Science, Research and Arts since September 2022.
Arne Braun, born on May 11, 1965, was editor-in-chief of the Stuttgart city magazine LIFT from 1992 to 2007, during which time he started the Long Night of Museums and the Stuttgart Culture Night (later Stuttgart Night). From 2007 to 2011, Braun was an advisor and one of the press spokespersons for the Green Party in the Baden-Württemberg state parliament.
With the election of Winfried Kretschmann as Minister President in 2011, Braun moved to the Ministry of State as deputy government spokesperson. In addition, he has been responsible for the cultural program in the park of the government seat Villa Reitzenstein since 2013. From May 2021, he was the head government spokesperson for the state government of Baden-Württemberg before becoming State Secretary in the Ministry of Science, Research and Arts in September 2022.
